Media notes
The two-note whistle (reminiscent of a Striped Cuckoo's song) is that of a Scaly-breasted Illadopsis singing spontaneously in the understory of tall forest along the Royal Mile. Background includes: Black-and-white Colobus Monkeys (the generator-like sound) & Red-chested Cuckoo. The second cut is after playback, when at least 2 birds responded, one singing and the other probably giving the chatter/scolds. It was a mostly cloud-covered sky with patches of sunlight. Recorded using a Sony Minidisc Walkman MZ-R70 with a Sennheiser ME67 & foam windscreen.
