NOTES: Notes on paper with the recording: Atlantic Walrus vocalizations; taped Canadian High Arctic during breeding season. 9.5cm/s; stereo; vocalizations emitted at surface and under water. [The paper is "Structural variation in the songs of Atlantic walruses breeding in the Canadian High Arctic." Aquatic Mammals 2003, 29.2, pp 297–318. Technical details for the recordings published in the paper are: "All underwater recordings were made using a Uher 4200 Report Monitor tape recorder and an International Transducer Corporation 6050C hydrophone with a built-in pre-ampliŽer. The frequency response of the recording system was 25 Hz–13 kHz, "12 dB at a tape speed of 4.7 cm/s or 20 Hz–16 kHz, "8.5 dB at a tape speed of 9.5 cm/s. The hydrophone was either submerged through a hole in the ice or suspended from an ice shelf along the southern edge of the polynya to a depth of 3 m." Though made on a two-channel Uher 4200, the recordings are monaural in light of the fact a single hydrophone was used. G. Budney 12Feb2016].
