Observation details
These two birds, a male and a female, were most likely continuing birds from the 12 that John Deacon had on January 21. The male, in the southernmost pond, had a thin red bill, a dark green head, a mostly white elongated body, and a dark back. The female, in the northernmost pond, had a thin red bill, a rusty-brown head with a long crest, and a distinct white chin patch. The red of the head and upper neck was sharply demarcated from the white lower neck. The body was slaty-gray and the flanks and belly were white.
