Observation details
Observations from hand written notes by George Peck provided to Alix d'Entremont by Mr Peck's son Mark Peck. Submitted by Alix d'Entremont on behalf of the Nova Scotia Bird Society. Hand-written notes by George Peck: June 11/67- off to Strawberry Island again this a.m. with Sheila, Don Pothier and Bruce LeBlanc. They left me there and from the blind soon saw at least a dozen pairs of Arctic Terns at their nests. (additional information on individual Arctic Tern nests) - We travelled next to Bar Island nearby, owned by Don Pothier and his father and used by them for grazing a small flock of sheep and 1 ram. This island was roughly 10 acres in extent, elongated in shape and consisted of a rocky periphery and a central plateau consisting of grass and Raspberry cane. - Great Black-backed Gull – nest with 3 eggs, photos… -Upon leaving a Black Guillemot was noted offshore.
