Observation details
1 juvenile seen well and photographed. Apparently the first for Santa Clara County, been there for 2 days. Repeatedly diving but not seen to catch anything. Upending and folding wings back before diving. No calls heard. Viewed at distances down to less than 20 meters for up to 20 minutes. Spending about half of the time under water. NaRe
