Observation details
I believe this gull to be a 2nd year. Back is pale gray with light brownish showing on secondaries. Neck and belly molted slightly. No spots visible on wing tips. Large bill that was light yellow to light tan with black end with very small white tip. Pale pinkish legs and feet. This gull was almost twice the size of Ring-billed gulls near by seen in last picture. Gull took flight and showed black wing tips with no spots and faint black lines on trailing edge of secondaries. 2nd photo shows the pale bases on Inner primaries (windows). Tail had a wide black band and white rump. Eliminated Thayer's gull with size and color of beak, band on tail being black not pale brown and flatter head than the more rounder head of the Thayer's gull.
