Observation details
Excellent looks at this species today is stormy conditions but good light. After seeing so many FLSHs it was good to encounter these alone. Much darker than fluttering. Hood darker and more defined really stop out. Upperparts almost all blackish/brown. Underwings with much more black and distinct patterns. In flight very hooded look. Photo note: some of the pictures that are distinct are intentional to show a better in the field presentation. Too often the closeups are not useful in the field especially with species that are closely patterned to others.
