Media notes
This tinkerbird was singing from the canopy of undisturbed forest along the trail across the bamboo bridge. Possibly in association with a mixed flock…? It was unidentified at the time—and never seen—but its song matches that of Red-rumped. Background includes: Chocolate-backed Kingfisher, Western Black-headed Oriole. Digitized from original recording on a Sony TCM-5000, using a Sennheiser ME62 & foam windscreen.
Observation details
Though we didn't see it, I recorded a tinkerbird singing from the canopy of pristine forest along the main trail across the river from camp that proved to be the song of this species. It may have been in association with a big mixed flock we saw late morning. Heard only. Recording to be added.
