Observation details
Third time’s the charm! Found one singing after much searching in open creosote flats with scattered Atriplex, crucifixion-thorn, and mesquite. I observed it for about 45 minutes as it scurried around, foraged on the ground, and sporadically ascended to low perches for bouts of song. Interestingly, it seemed to sing more softly as I got closer; when I was closest the bird was giving just a barely audible whisper song.
