Observation details
Initially spotted while driving back to the mainland. Noticed a Bonaparte's sized gull kiting over the small ponds between the billboards (37.9363049, -75.4232404). As we slowed down, I saw a bright orange/red bill, which almost stopped me on the hwy. I quickly turned us around for a better examination and found with great delight that the gull was still foraging along the ponds and allowed us to enjoy it for several minutes. I snapped some shots that show clear scalloping to the coverts suggesting an SY (1-winter) gull. The bird was later reported that day by another birder.
