Male Evening Grosbeak feeding on the ground where juniper berries had fallen.
Observation details
50-60, most in junipers at wet drainage here 32°18′14″ N 110°35′19″ W or next draw to east. Minimum of 50 seen in flight at one time. These were foraging on juniper, and when the flock descended on a tree, the crunching noise of them feeding was audible. Many fed by picking up fallen berries on the ground.
