Observation details
After checking three viewpoints finally connected with the returning adult male BAGO seen most often at Crab Meadow. Compared to Common Goldeneye (COGO) showed an obvious broad white facial crescent, a different head shape, blue rather than greenish gloss, and a neat row of white check marks along the shoulder. Very loosely associated with two female COGO several hundred yards off the Fresh Pond outlet. Thanks to Taylor Sturm for the tip-off. He’d seen it here a couple of hours earlier.
