Observation details
First reported by Lucas Stephenson, Scott Bowers, and Anna Klafter on 3 January and heard and seen briefly by Rudy Wallen and myself that evening. Was relatively certain of WIWR vs. PAWR but wanted to get better documentation, as there are 2-3 PAWR also in vicinity. Favors large bush between Dwarf Conifer and Anelli ponds in Temperate Asia section near the SE corner of the garden. Also observed crossing the paved path toward the SE corner, favoring a large berry thicket along the south side of the path. Calls classic of WIWR - muted, SOSP-like, in comparison with frequent, sharper near-by calls of PAWR. Heard singing twice, a mellower and more musical rendition than the frequent nearby PAWR songs. In comparison with PAWRs redder above, especially rump and tail, paler and buffier below with more barring. See photos.
