Observation details
This adult sparrow was with small sparrow flock on south side of Senior Center that eventually moved to frisbee golf course parking lot (north end) where I obtained some photos before flock moved back to the Senior Center hedges; apparently same bird that I photographed in same area in December 2019; the white throat appears too bold for WCSP (although occasional individuals will show bolder than average white throats), but also the underparts appear messier with vague streaking similar to a WTSP pattern; also the upperparts appear darker with some reddish tones more like WTSP; the blackish lateral crown stripes are narrower anteriorly, which is more like WTSP; the white supercilium widens posteriorly also like a WTSP, although it shows no hint of yellow in the lores; the bill appears pale but bascially colorless.
