Observation details
Small shorebird displaying characteristic phalarope-style swimming on water; long needle-like bill; prominent 'phalarope' mark on head. Continuing bird found yesterday by John Rawsthorne. Remained faithful to far corner of pond. Viewed at a distance of 260 m. Record photos attached. Others have better digi-scoped photos showing features. Bird alternated between swimming/feeding on the water in characteristic phalarope style and standing up on the bund.
