Media notes
Soft low scratchy cluck-like calls, made intermittently (several semi-regularly spaced calls followed by long gaps, then another series). Almost doesn't sound like a bird sound but watched it making them multiple times along the edge of the marsh and in the thicket. Sounded a bit like a quick strike of a match on a hard surface.
Observation details
Edge of the marsh, opposite side of the spur trail from the blind. Follow the Sage Thrasher signs! Thanks Maine Audubon! Mostly sunning itself, also eating granular snow on the ground and some multiflora rose hips. Foraging on the ground. Finally good looks in the open!
