Observation details
The first pair we saw feeding in a fruiting tree which looked like a species of Cecropia. The next pair we saw after walking up the valley about 15 minutes later in a different species of broadleaf tree. The final pair we observed about 10 minutes later farther up the valley. The last observation was a single individual in the village area, in another Cecropia, that we observed toward the end of our checklist while leaving the valley. It seems unlikely that a single pair of fruit doves followed us up the valley for the first 6 observations, and therefore I conclude we saw 7 individuals.
