Media notes
Observed bird crash into arborvitae tree, which was located next to several bird feeding stations that was loaded with birds, e.g, House Sparrow, ETS, and House Finch. Bird flushed from arborvitae--without a bird in its talons--and landed on the tree branch shown in the photos. The behavior I observed suggested to me that the raptor might have been trying to flush the feeding sparrows/finches to hit a window...raptor could then get easy, stunned prey item. Feeding stations were positioned about 10 feet from edge of house and fairly large picture window.
