Observation details
My second attempt at this bird after a failed attempt on 27th December when the bird had seemingly departed. With its reappearance on 2nd January and with a free day today I headed back to the site. The weather was less than suitable with heavy rain and a strong wind but I managed to arrive at a time when the rain had eased and the bird showed well on the boardwalk at 50.723643, -3.060203. The bird was rather bedraggled and appeared to be missing a few tail feathers but these may have been matted by the wet. At one stage the bird perched on my telescope but mainly it fed along the sides of the boardwalk and on the boardwalk itself. Present since 20th December but with a five day absence between 27th and 1st January, inclusive
