The very strange-tailed Strange-tailed Tyrant was indeed one of our first targets on our Paraguay journey. The site was right on the roadside as we were heading north-west towards Filadelfia. But we missed it! Then again, and again. Finally on our fourth attempt at the end of the trip we scored. Thus this species certainly built up to become the no 1 Bird of the trip! The species occupies tall grasslands only in Paraguay and adjacent Argentina.
