Observation details
The courting Pallids from a few days back were at it again, chasing each other about very strikingly... I was quite stunned to see the sheer size of the frosted, amorous male compared to his prospective mate; it's never really struck me before that they have any discernible size difference, so that was interesting!! (EDIT: In a bizarre and fantastic twist, it turns out the huge size difference was because the object of the male Pallid's affections was, in fact, a young Fan-Tail!!! Despite being a keen researcher of hybrids, I've never heard of hybridisation of Cuckoos in my life, though given its regularity in other birds and the fact these creatures are the same genus, I would not be at all surprised if this was in the works... though the youth of the female Fan-Tail leads me to believe a union would probably not be successful)
