Observation details
occidentalis 1 male on the 20th at end of bird walk with David Pinto. He heard it calling and looking saw a male in a branch just above eye level and not too far away but hard to pick out. Actually got scope on it. It was moving a bit and feeding but OK looks, but it was pretty misty. Later that day saw another male up on the ridge top road on our walk. Worse angle but actually better look, closer and less mist and could see the hood colour better (still black rather than dark green). On 21st saw another male on our AM walk up road and then in the afternoon a female was seen on the compost trail. This female was feeding on fruit on a sparse branch right over the trail. Got our best looks and pictures but she did not stay long.
