Observation details
2 adults and 4 juveniles flying and and out of cottonwood tree near the river. We ourselves were astonished to see so many. We saw the adults on our way in, flying out of a particular tree and away from us toward the river. Some 20 minutes later, as we started back, we saw one adult flying back toward the tall cottonwoods where we saw them earlier. When we got back to that spot, two adults and (we think) four juveniles all started out of the tree and flew around and around, eventually settling back into it. I took several shots but never does one of the birds show through the branches in the shots. I did however get a good photo of the tree itself, which I'm attaching. Also a Google Earth image with a pin.
