Observation details
An exceptional record. This is the first record for Victoria and there are fewer than 10 Australian records. A Cook's Petrel-like bird with a steal grey half collar/hood that was both well defined and did not extend onto the upper flanks below the wing. Shape of collar including stepped notch in lower edge to rear of eye and relatively weak supercilium also good (though supercilium at the 'more white' end of the spectrum. Structure also good. BARC submission to follow.
