Observation details
First noticed a darker bird harassing gulls and my first impression was a falcon. I soon realized that this was a juvenile/sub-adult Jaeger with a lighter belly, white wing flashes, quicker wingbeats, and an agile flight pattern while intensively harassing gulls. Only observed for a few minutes above the dam and spillway until it flew closer, giving better pics before heading far out on the lake. Leaning toward a sub-adult or at least very close to sub-adult Parasitic. First would be the size compared to the RBGU it was chasing (which the jaeger was slightly smaller in proportions and length) while not having the pot-bellied Pomarine appearance. Second, it was very agile and seemed less heavy in flight than Pomarine. The tail did not have clearly distinct pointed tail streamers, but I know that they can be short like this at some molts. Too much white on primary shafts for Long-tailed Jaeger. I am definitely not an expert on jaeger id but these are my notes on this one. Any other suggestions are appreciated
