Observation details
YEEAAHH! Very rare, continuing from yesterday, personal FOY. First seen foraging in the shallows by the playground, bent over working the shoreline in a very ibis like manner. Very helpful in cleaning up the park apple snails! Gorgeous bird. Heron shaped bird, about the size of a LBHE. Long, dark, downward curved bill with an orange base. Brownish overall with a lighter head. Covered in white spots and streaks, thickest around the head. Must have decided the water was to dirty there (it is) or felt to crowded with the nearby geese. It then walked over to the other side of the island where it gave amazing looks, pausing to preen only feet away from me. Incredible, possibly the most amazing bird I’ve ever seen at Municipal
