NOTES: (RRN#:90-29-17-end; Cut#: 17-end; Background Sounds: foraging flocks of Meadow Larks and Brewer's Blackbirds, traffic, Killdeer; Species Sound: infrequent; Breeding Status: not territorial; Sound Delivery Rate: sporadic; General Climate: cyclic wet-dry; General Habitat: farmland, pastures; Dominant Plants: pasture or mown hayfields - alfalfa; Temperature: 24-29¡ C; Filtering: yes) *-*** Filter III turned off at 41. The Ibis flyin flocks of 5-15 and congregate on fields covered with irrigation water in groups up to 200 at a time. They forage for earthworms and possibly other insects in the flooded fields. The croaking calls are made sometimes at landing, sometimes at takeoff, sometimes when they get in each other's way while foraging. Best cut is last 2-3 min. of tape. After cut 36 date is 8/27/90, 16:10pm, 5 miles N of Payson. *Part A = 11:26, Q = 2. Part B = 12:09, Q = 2. LNS Note: Unbroken cut with handling noise gain change. JN 26Aug2005.
