Observation details
Small warbler with no wing bars. Gray overall with white eye ring and hint of darker crown seen in pics. When darker crown was evaluated in Lightroom, it presented a strong red color. Paler gray throat, belly and undertail coverts. Separated from other Leiothylpis based on eye ring eliminates Tennessee and Orange-crowned, in addition to paler gray color. Separated from Nashville and Virginia's by absolute absence of any yellow in chest and undertail coverts. Unfortunately never got a look at the rump. Seen on east side of canal in the first group of trees on the right. Watched intermittently for several minutes. Pics attached only reasonably ones captured. Waited for pics to be certain of ID. Welcome differing opinions.
