Observation details
Heard somewhat distant, south of Merritt Ln, while in the vicinity of the willows where RWBL and EUST have been perched. Classic, complex whistled song - sequence of 4 clear whistled notes, one high then one low, one high then one low, before a more complex, somewhat gargled ending. Starlings were in the vicinity when I heard this (they were perched in the willows), but this vocalization was coming from farther away; it was repeated several times in approximately 30 seconds, from the same direction; and, while I know Starlings can be excellent mimics, I doubt that they could mimic the tone and cadence of this song so perfectly. Got a rather lousy recording - WEME can be heard right at the beginning and again shortly after :30.
