Observation details
Continuing; located on east edge of Visitor Center pond perched above ground level in reeds. Seemingly content to preen and watch the ducks and geese below. Larger than expected teardrop-shaped heron with very angular neck and head tapering down to its long, sharp bill. Heavily brown streaked, nearly perfectly matching its surroundings. Pics.
