Observation details
Red-headed wigeon with yellow crown and gray flanks ... seen at close range but back-lit; the wigeon flock was tucked up in grassy area on bank at south side of lake right at a point where the road comes closest to the lakeshore but we couldn't see them until we were right upon them due to high grass/vegetation - they flock wasn't disturbed by normal driving cars, but we were moving slowly and they ran out into the lake and rapidly swam out when we stopped. EUWI was almost immediately apparent - wish we could have seen the flock at a position where we could have stopped to view them with sun at our backs.
