Observation details
Continuing bird. First seen in the pines on the Northwest side of the playground, mingling with Juncos and foraging. Disappeared, then refound across the field in the pines on the East side of the parking lot. Stayed foraging in these trees with YRWA until I left. Very active, foraging for the duration of observation and flying between trees and branches often. Warbler with bright yellow head and breast and dull grayish coloration on the rest of the body. Called a few times, a harsh, almost metallic “chip”, very different from YRWA call. Photos.
