NOTES: Breeding status: Breeding Recordist's note: Continuation of recording at Stardey nest site. Approx 2 minutes 40 sec into the tape, a short segment of coyote recorded. Nestlings become more actove as dawn chorus began. I assume that they were at nest hole as vocalizations become much louder. (ML Notes: It seems that the vocalizations are the begging calls of the nestlings. The BNA describes nestling calls as simple 'peeps' progressing into 'snores' but I do not know if what we are hearing here is either of these calls. Calls from adults heard include hoots and other calls for which I am not sure how to described them. I believe bill-clapping can also be heard. CZ 22/12/03). Same subject(s) as LNS 50536. Number of individuals=AM1AF1NU2+;. Other Behaviors: Establish Parent Young Contact, Beg, Care For Young, Social Context: Family. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest, Montane Grassland.
