Observation details
Continuing bird found by Eric Pilotte and Roger Muskat. Small troglodytes seen on island around here,(38.5141752, -122.0709697). Visually almost identical to PAWR but we did note that it didn’t seem quite as rusty and had a whitish throat. Gave “chimp” double call notes that sounded song sparrow-esque compared to the Wilson’s Warbler-esque PAWR calling nearby. It also seemed that the double notes of the WIWR weren’t as close together. The trill call that this bird gave was more broken up and not as continuous as a pac with a raspier quality overall. Unlike Eric’s experience we found that it was more responsive to WIWR tape. Audio and photos tba.
