Observation details
The bird was spotted from north-west corner. One or two barred buttonquail was making calls around. I waited for sometime for the photo. When we were returning from there, I saw a yellow billed babbler sitting on a tree.Inorder to take its photo, I jumped over a compound wall. After walking a few steps forward, a quail flew away from the middle of my legs to a short distance .There were almost 20inches of grass.I followed the bird and the co-birder fahaz stayed back. Then it again flew away upto a distance of 40-45metres. I tried and got some photos.First when I took the photo, I thought its rain quail and didn't follow. Then went to start the raptor monitoring survey. The photo uploaded was took by Fahaz Ebird India experts Ashwin vishwanathan, Abhinand Chandran, and Praveen J helped me for identification.
