Observation details

Beautiful female bird - brown with a bronzy/gold sheen, darkest at wings, awesome metallic teal blue/green hue near tail when in direct sunlight. Very distinct brown eyes and bill shape differentiate from rusty blackbird. Long tail seen in flight and tail bobbing observed when perched. Observed foraging in the middle of K-lot for quite a while - moving along the edges of logs to stay out of the wind and then hopping up on them for a vantage point - chased at very close range by a peregrine. Returned to trees and then stayed along N Bragg Rd. with junco flock. As the sun was setting the bird moved closer to the SW side of the lot giving great views and calling a bit. The bird was still present when I left as the sun went down. Multiple observers. Thanks so much to the birders who re-found. Lifer! Photos to follow.
