Media notes

NOTES: dawn -0.5hrs; species cut number 6 BNA: Primary Song "pit-tsee-eur" (RRV1) and "pit-eet" (RRV2). Initially Peaked Vocalization "phee-eur". possibly Chatter Vocalization. [This is the Primary Song of the species (sensu BNA) combining the fully peaked form of the Initially Peaked Vocalization (IPV) with type 1 and type 2 Regularly Repeated Vocalizations (RR1s, RR2s). See Figure 1c of Smith (1970a. Song-like displays in Sayornis species. Behaviour 37:64-84) for RRVs and Figure 1 of Smith (1970b. Displays and message assortment in Sayornis species. Behaviour 37: 85-112) for IPVs. Note that the BNA account appears to have confused the IPVs with RR1s and the RR1s with RR2s. Typical of the species (fide BNA following Smith), these 370 vocalizations are strongly biased towards IPVs, with only 82 RRVs included. Following Smith, there 54 RR1s (0:14, 0:27, 0:40...) and 28 RR2s (0:06, 0:36, 1:15...). Quality changed from 1 to 1-2 - 5 April 2005]. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Desert, Scrub.
