Observation details
Adult male with striking long gorget feathers. Darlene was an amazing host and her work in the garden is much appreciated. Tiny plump bodied green hummer with short bill. The long staggered gorget feathers looked mostly burgundy in the dwindling sunlight but would glow and glimmer bits of brilliant fuchsia colors when angled properly, particularly the elongated outer gorget rays. Short tail. Wings held hunched making them point down towards the ground. Looks like a monster while it was scratching its chin with its gorget puffed out.
