Observation details
Female/immature type of warbler with greenish upperparts with dark streaks on the mantle. First caught our attention by its tail, that was black only along the edges instead of the black tail of YRWA nearby that has varying sizes of white circles. Noticed it’s two prominent white wingbars. Paler underparts with an even yellow wash upto its belly with faint streaks along the sides and flanks. Then realizing the possibility of BLPW we checked for pale leg/feet, also had pale bill with dark tip. White eyering broken by black eyestripe. Unable to get pictures (camera focused on the YRWA without a tail instead…). Seen in the same area as the Swamp Sparrow, foraging in last willow tree at the end of the riparian corridor between ponds D and C. (33.8952938, -117.1099723) EDIT: We managed to find a very blurry photo of the bird showing a partial view from the underside. The middle portion of the long under tail covert is obstructed from view by a leaf, however, the sides of the under tail coverts are visible and are white. The sides of the tail is also visible and the black edges can be seen contrasting against the middle white portion. The underparts have a yellow wash with smudgy streaks along the sides. The pale legs also seem to be obstructed.
