Observation details
Conservative estimate, counted by 20s - well documented high-count roost at the location. Flocks and Flocks of birds came and after circling for a while they all came to root on the Euc inside the jail area. Notes on Yellow-headed-Parrot Hybrid Photos included here: The group present this day observed in binoculars at least one full yellow headed parrot with pale bill. This bird was recorded few times in e-bird during October including the day before. The parrot had yellow on the entire face, crown, and nape. Bill was translucent. Due to no-photo documentation (Parrot didn't roost and was lost in hundreds, so non-ideal conditions for taking a Photo). I was asked to move this to Amazona species. As it was hard to focus in the dark, my binocular observation is mutually exclusive from pictures captured via view finder. It was impossible in the dark to locale the birds in flight in binoculars and then switch to the camera to focus and shoot. And most of these I credit to Kelly and other birders on binoculars as we were together, and as they called out the potentials, I was able to shoot. Thanks to all. Captured 3+4+2+2 are hybrids (as per reviewer) in pics at 6.12pm, 6.17pm, and 6.23pm. These are provided as documentation for the parrot other than the one described above. As I understand from the reviewer, these are likely Yellow-headed-Parrot + Turquoise Fronted Parrot. Well promising! at least, we saw 9 Children of the lonely Yellow-headed Parrot in the roost. Interesting never saw a Turquoise fronted parrot, hopefully someday. Observed along with Kelly C, David T, Steve N, Don H, Raymond B, and Nicole. Apologies if I missed anyone.
