Observation details
Insane amount. While at location I counted at least 16 males and saw 6 female birds. I was able to approach the males and watch from a point to see the females approach the displaying males. The ritual seemed, after peenting at a location, a female would flutter in and land close by to have the male flutter over to her and peent towards her. He quickly proceeds to bow his head and lift both wings over his back and peent at the female, although a little less "rhythmically" than if he was calling in general. Birds worked like clockwork and started "peenting" at 6:29pm, and ended the calling at 6:52pm. Habitat was open field speckled with cedars and pines surrounded by lower wet open woods.
