Observation details
Always great to see one of these little guys, and its nice to see they are apparently recovering from the infamous February 2011 freeze. A small dove with proportionately long tail. Grayish-brown overall with a slightly darker feather edge and shaft on all body feathers, giving a distinctive scalloped appearance. Thin bill mostly dark with a pale base to the lower mandible. Paler throat and face. Pale orbital ring. Distinctive red iris. Silent. Seen at the intersection of Higuera and 7th street perched on a telephone line.
