Media notes
NOTES: Chittering call given in protest; Behavior accompanying vocalization: pulling its leg or wing away from the person holding or touching it; This chittering call was given in protest when it did not want to be touched, felt or held. I would check the pectoral muscles regularly by feeling them to determine how well the bird was doing. This irritated the owl and always evoked this chittering call. During the molt in May and June it was very irritated when its feathers were touched in any manner and would give this protest.; For a hostory of this bird see LNS # 49924.
