Observation details
Large black-and-white flycatcher with a very long, all black forked tail that would bend gently in the air while acrobatically flying. Its bandit-like face mask went around to the cap with a delineated end just under the eyes and neck, similar to an Eastern Kingbird, and it had a white breast/belly. Light armpits; no red, ruling out Scissor-tailed. We watched this bird fly over our heads and S Broadway Rd several times. Spectacular flight! It also flew low over the marsh, perched atop trees and stumps, and fed on berries. I saw it cough up little dark chunks a couple times, too. Photographed by Jonathan; will add his pic soon. *** Record accepted by the IBRC.
