Observation details
W bound just after 8am, called 12 or so times. Classic multiple note, hoarse, scratchy finch call repeated and mutated with each iteration but consistently more than one note (and often three). Not an irruption year for this species...yet; this was not on my radar! I unfortunately stopped the recording after I thought it had finished calling and then maybe 10 seconds later heard it call again 4-5 additional times still apparently moving away. In 2020 during the Cassin's Finch irruption I claimed two Cassin's from Inspiration Pt., each heard a few times and with poor audio accompanying one record. Despite positive (and some neutral) feedback on that audio recording, it was much worse than this one, as was my experience with each of those birds so I removed them from my list. It is nice to have this species back on my list--I am very happy with this observation. And fairly happy with the attached media.
