Observation details
First heard the trilly call note in the trees behind the field northwest of the school. Heard it calling for a couple minutes, but was unable to get eyes on it initially. It flew north away from the school. We found it along the gravel road near the entrance to the school, at the end of north point Higgins road. Large yellow flycatcher, with dark head and light throat. Eventually perched in nice light and was photographed well. Second tropical kingbird seen in Ketchikan this fall, possibly the same bird, though the first bird was seen 14 miles away in town near the high school.
