Observation details
Exact count. Yet another incredible westbound movement! We counted 940 until 10:30am. A huge snowstorm and band of fog rolled in for 30 minutes at that point, and the kittiwakes stopped moving. Once the weather cleared up at 11:00am, the birds ramped back up and we counted a whopping 5845 until 1:30pm when we had to leave. Uptick in juveniles today - about 50%. In total, we counted 9049 during our 3 sea-watching stints today, so easily over 10,000 migrated by today!
