Observation details
***mega; part of large scale invasion across south Florida and the gulf coast in mid-October 2022. Male and female foraging primarily in large fruiting ficus tree at these coordinates: 26.9427245, -80.0760835. Small greenish passerines, with thin decurved dark colored beak. Female uniformly green above, and a lighter pale green below on the breast, with reddish colored legs. The male was similarly green as the female with a contrasting black wing. They would occasionally fly to nearby gumbo limbo, mango, and oak trees and perch up in bare branches and preen for a few minutes, before returning to the ficus to feed. While in flight, noted yellow flight feathers from below as male flew directly overhead! Vocal, particularly while in flight. High pitched wiry sounding call notes.
