Observation details
Pelicans are not common here but it is not unexpected to see one or more out on the lake. One had been seen on the lake yesterday. This bird (probably the same one as yesterday) was first seen on the patio under our deck looking into the house through lower level glass doors. When I tried to take its photo it literally walked down the steps toward the lake. A short time later it was back looking in the doors but this time it proceeded to stroll through the woods to our bird feeding area and then walk off into the woods. It showed no obvious signs of injury, fear, or stress, nor any sign it was habituated to humans.
