Observation details
Single 1st cycle gull mostly in juvenile plumage but with some replaced scapulars. Large AHGU-sized. High placed dark eye with GWGU-like jizz to head. Hefty bill with lightening base. Dull pink legs with dark shins. Broad wings but with relatively longish hand and no bulging secondaries, intermediate primary projection. Overall very uniform brown. Muddy brown primaries with prominent chevroning -darker than typical GWGU and considerably lighter than AHGU. Mostly solid brown tail with some mottled speckling of the base of outer retraces. Thayer's r/o by structure & plumage state, American Herring and Glaucous-winged by mid range plumage/primary colour. Slaty-backed by longish primary projection and leg-colour.
